Globe-Trotter has teamed up with fellow eminent British and Italian brands in a summer-long pop-up in Saint-Tropez
A Saint-Tropez summer
Summer is tantalisingly close, and the azul waters and winding cobbled streets of Saint-Tropez are beckoning. In this upmarket corner of the French Riviera, Globe-Trotter has joined forces with fellow heritage brands to launch the summer shopping event of the season – The Shop on The Corner.
What is The Shop on The Corner?
The Shop on The Corner is a physical compendium of summer style, bringing together five brands – Globe-Trotter, Connolly, Smythson, Fornasetti and Alessi – under one roof for the first time.
These are not brands chosen at random, but names that share sartorial and cultural relevance. Spread across two floors and spanning 255sqm, The Shop takes visitors on a journey through a European vision of style and prestige. The ground floor is dedicated to British luxury, where Globe-Trotter’s luggage, travel and leather accessories are complemented by Smythson stationery and summer clothing by Connolly.
Upstairs, on the first floor, is a café designed by Fornasetti, alongside a curated selection of the Mid-century brand’s furniture, accessories and porcelain. Fellow Italian design giant Alessi is also on display, with a selection of iconic products available to purchase.
Experiential shopping
The Shop on The Corner is a welcome return to bricks-and-mortar retail. It taps into the modern consumer’s desire for experiential shopping, engaging the senses. These are products that tell a story and celebrate the true meaning of luxury – craftsmanship, heritage and provenance.
Globe-Trotter has standalone boutiques in some of the world’s most dynamic cities – from London to Tokyo – as well as outlets in prestigious destinations such as Harrods and the Peninsula hotels in Hong Kong and Paris. But this marks a unique step in temporary retail space, where tradition and artistry sit side by side. Together with fellow 19th-century companies Connolly and Smythson, the three British heavyweights have an incredible combined age of 416 years. But their cultural relevance is only growing, and The Shop gives visitors the chance to discover the brands both individually and in a complementary context to create a modern travel wardrobe.
The eternal allure of the Côte d'Azur
And where better to pick up a new travel wardrobe than Saint-Tropez? Once a sleepy fishing village in the South of France, it is now a byword for glitz and glamour. In the aftermath of World War II, and once the world had caught sight of Brigitte Bardot walking barefoot on the sands of Saint-Tropez in the 1956 film Et Dieu… créa la femme, the tiny port town was thrust into the limelight. It swiftly became a magnet for the Hollywood jetset, drawn not only to its breathtaking scenery and natural beauty but to its distinctly Mediterranean bohemian spirit. Now, the town is synonymous with superyachts, bustling beach clubs and designer stores, but the remnants of its quiet, artsy past remain.
Make it personal
The Shop is an invitation to discover Saint-Tropez and leave with a souvenir designed to last. The pop-up will continue throughout the summer and into the autumn, ending on 5 October 2026. During this time, Globe-Trotter will host a series of events and activations, including a by-invitation concierge event and drinks reception, organised in collaboration with nearby luxury hotels. Later in the summer, Globe-Trotter will also host an intimate YOLO VIP event, led by writer and editor Yolanda Edwards and her wider creative circle, bringing together tastemakers and friends of the brand. And during a dedicated Personalisation Week, shoppers can have their Globe-Trotter purchases gold stamped or hand painted by skilled artisans. In doing so, this will create a customised treasure that’s made to last a lifetime.
The Shop on The Corner is open until 5 October 2026, at 4 Avenue du Maréchal Foch, Saint-Tropez, 83990 France; globe-trotter.com
