This centuries-old Japanese technique involves building up layers of natural sap to create a high-gloss finish with exceptional depth and lustre. Every case is unique in character, a result of both the artisan’s hand and the nature of the lacquer itself.
Trimmed with inked burgundy leather and finished with polished gold fittings, the case opens to reveal a soft chamel-lined interior with compartments designed to cradle rings, earrings and delicate pieces securely. Vulcanised Fibreboard
The main structure of the Jewellery Box is crafted from Globe-Trotter’s proprietary Vulcanised Fibreboard, comprising 14 layers of recycled paper, cotton, and wood pulp from sustainable sources. These layers are bonded with zinc and compressed under steam and pressure, resulting in a shell that is exceptionally lightweight, strong, and exclusive to Globe-Trotter. This material is chosen for its unmatched durability and its refined, iconic appearance.
Vegetable-Tanned Leather
All leather elements, including the hand-moulded corners, trims, handles and fastening details, are made from vegetable-tanned hide. This traditional tanning method uses only natural plant extracts to create leather of exceptional strength and character. Over time, it develops a rich patina, ensuring that every case becomes ever more individual with each journey.

Internal Tray and Compartments
The interior features a removable wooden tray, precisely crafted for lightness and structure.
